A free health camp was organized by the JBTWS, Delhi on June 5-6, 2010 at Kathiyan, a remote place of Jaunsar Bawar in Tehsil, Tuini, Distt- Dehradun (Uttrakhand). The doctors who were present and provided exemplary services at the camp were Dr. Kunwar Singh Rawat, Dr. P. S. Negi, Dr. S. D. Bijalwan, Dr. Naipal Singh Chauhan, Dr. Meenu Rawat, Dr. Amar Singh Rai, Dr. Parvesh Gupta, Dr. Surendra Chauhan, Dr. Keshar Chauhan, Dr. Chandan Singh Rawat, Dr. Narendra Chauhan, Dr. Parmesh Sharma, Dr. Poonam Panwar, Dr. Pradeep Uniyal, Dr. Mahendra Rai, Dr. N. K. Khanduri, Dr. C. P. Tiwari and Dr. Manju Chand. Further, the members of paramedical staff present at camp site were Shri Deepak Nautiyal, Lab technologit, Shri Pawan Kumar Dikshit, Pjoject Co-ordinator of Rajkiya Sachal Chikitsa Vahan, Ms. Kiran Rawat, Staff Nurse and Ms Meenakshi Panwar, Sh. Avdesh Sharma, Sh. Jaipal Singh Rai, Gaurav and Dinesh Rawat (pharmacists). The members of society who were present at the camp site and helped in organizing the said camp were Sh. Maya Ram Sharma (Ex-Chairman), Sh. R. S. Rawat (Ex-Chairman), Sh. Sardar Singh Chauhan (President), Sh. Rajinder Tomar (Vice-President), Sh. Matbar Negi ( Vice-President), Shri Surat Singh Rana ( Secretary), Sh. Sultan Singh Chauhan ( Treasurer), Shri Vikram Chauhan (Exe Member), Sh. Karam Chand Sharma ( Exe. Member), Sh. Maya Ram Sharma (Exe. Member), Sh. Chaman Singh Rawat (Exe. Member), Sh. Yashpal Rana ( Exe. Member), Sh Sardar Singh Rana, Shri Narendar Chauhan, Sh. Deewan Singh Bisht, Sh. Kalyan Tomar, Sh. Jagbir Chauhan, Sh. Attar Singh Rana, Sh. Shamsher Singh Panwar, Sh. Khushi Ram Sharma, Sh Kishan Singh Chauhan & Sh Bhawani Singh. The team of Doctors, volunteers and para medical staff reached Kathiyan at 7 P.M. on 4th June,10. The villagers and the organizers gave a warm welcome to these members at Kathiyan. The inaugural function of health camp bagan at around 9 A.M. in the premises of Govt. Inter College, Kathiyan (Bhatad) on 5th June, 10 with the welcome of Chief Guest Sh Jogram Sharma, Retired teacher (vill- Bhatad) with floral bouquets. The Exe. Members and other members of JBTWS, Delhi welcomed all the Doctors and para-medical staff with garlands. Shri Surat Singh Rana, Secretary welcomed the gathering and highlighted the aims, objects and achievements of Society. The chief guest Shri Jogram Sharma praised the society for its welfare activities in the area and thanked it for choosing Kathiyan for the health camp,2010. The Chairman of Society, Dr. P.S. Negi addressed the gathering and besides enumerating the achievements of society, emphasized upon its objective to construct a Jaunsar Bawar Bhawan in New Delhi/NCR. Shri R. S. Rawat, Ex-Chairman of Society also addressed the gathering and thanked all Doctors for associating with the cause of the society and for providing exemplary free services in the Health Camps which made such camps highly successful. The function ended with a vote of thanks by Shri Rajendra Tomar, Vice-President to all the Doctors, CMO (Dehradun), ONGC (Dehradun), Govt. Hospital Vikas Nagar, and the donors who provided medicines for the health camp. Thereafter, the Health Camp began with the registration of patients. The two days Health Camp at Kathiyan was highly successful as it benefited nearly 2000 needy patients of the remote region covering around 30 nearby villages. Besides, free medical check-ups by the specialist doctors and distribution of free medicines the facilities of free Ultrasound, X- rays, ECG, Blood test and other pathological tests were also provided to the patients at camp site. Besides this, 50 spectacles were provided to the patients having eight sight/ low vision problem. Further, 5-6 minor surgeries were also conducted at the camp site. Dr. G. C. Bothiyal, CMO, Dehradun also visited the camp site on 5th June,2010 and appreciated the selfless efforts of the JBTW Society. A nice arrangement of food and stay for Doctors and volunteers at Kathiyan was done by Shri Sardar Singh Chauhan, President and the members of the Society hailing from the nearby areas. In the closing ceremony which took place at 2 P.M, all the Doctors and Para-medical staff were presented momentoes and certificates of participation. The local volunteers and students of GIC, Kathiyan who helped in organizing the camp were also given certificates by the Society.
